Muslim Woman

Muslim Woman status does the Quran endows for women. The details are lengthy but their gist is that Islam / Quran calls both man and woman, Zauj (counter part) to each other which means companions.

Muslim Woman: Law & power in Islam

@ 07:48 AM (15 months, 21 days ago)
An organized political community cannot exist without power. According to the Holy Quran, the Book (law), the balance (justice) and the iron (power) hold a society together. Thus the law its enforcement with justice and the power to protect the rule of law are the basic pillars of a State organization under Divine guidance. The Quran says: We sent afore time our messengers with clear signs an sent down with them the Book and the balance that men may stand forth in justice; an we sent down iron which is a great strength (for protection) as well as many other benefits for mankind -chapter 57 verse 25- A law becomes law in reality when it has been enforced which cannot be done without power. But power too should be used in accordance with law for otherwise it will reduce itself to barbarism.

Muslim Woman: Islamic Social Order

Tags:
@ 12:42 AM (15 months, 25 days ago)

The practical way of achieving Muslim Brotherhood is by establishing a social order in which the code of life is the Quran. In this social order the Millat shall chose its own representatives who in turn shall choose, the one who is the best among them, their Ameer or leader. The Ameer shall enforce the Quranic laws, injunctions and permanent values of the Quran; and also, at the same time, shall enforce bylaws in consonance with the existing circumstances, after mutual consultation. The rest of the Millat; shall obey the laws enforced by the Ameer. That is what is called an Islamic Social Order. This social order shall be applicable to the entire Millat but a beginning can be made at the lower levels: for example in localities inside a city, gradually rising up to the level of the city and further rising from city level to State level. Such a social order shall enable the voice of each individual to be heard at the highest level; and at the same time shall allow the orders enforced by the highest authority, to reach individuals, at the laws level, who shall thus be bound down to the Quranic guidance.

Muslim Woman: Revelation of Quran

Before the revelation of the Holy Quran, man was in utter darkness. He was ignorant of his exalted status in the universe, nor was he aware of the phenomena of nature. In short, he knew very little about the physical world and his own place in it. What kind of darkness was prevalent before the Divine revelation? It was the darkness of thought, of intellect, superstitions, and darkness of heart and mind. It was the darkness of being unacquainted with one’s own actual self. And the fact is that this darkness of being unaware of his own true position and dignity was the sum of all his darkness: it was the source and fountainhead of his darkness. Had man been aware of his own true self, then he would have eliminated all other dark nesses. Thus the question arises as to what dignified position the Quran has given to man? If we seek a detailed answer to the question, then we have to go through the whole Quran.

Muslim Woman: Universal Standard of Character

Tags:
@ 11:58 PM (16 months, 3 days ago)
People inhabiting different countries might follow different ways of life but, according to the Holy Quran, human values are the same anywhere and unchangeable too. It is not given, however, to human intellect to determine such values. Human intellect is essentially individualistic in character. It can seek preservation of the particular self to which it belongs individually or collectively, but not that of the other selves. For the well-being and preservation of mankind as a whole, however, what is needed is not an individualistic intellect, which cannot see beyond its nose, but a comprehensive and all pervading intellect, namely God and Revelation. It is Revelation alone which gives abiding universal values. The revealed values are preserved in the Holy Quran, the code of life for mankind in all times and ages. Quranic values are Permanent Values of life and provide a universal standard of character or, to use Quranic terminology, Taqwa.

Muslim Woman: What Islam's Say About Faith

Tags:
@ 05:57 AM (16 months, 14 days ago)
As every Muslim knows or should know, Iman is the foremost and essential requirement of Islam. Without proper Iman, one cannot become a Muslim even if one is born in a Muslim family. In fact,Iman is something which has to be self consciously acquired in order to become a Muslim, constantly maintained in order to remain a Muslim, and continually reinforced and fortified in order to begin the next life as a Muslim. Therefore,Iman is something which cannot and should not be taken for granted.

Unfortunately, many of us take it for granted. If Iman is so important that it is the gist of life here and a savior in the hereafter, then it becomes necessary for each of us to find out what Iman really is.It is not right to say that I am a Muslim and therefore I have Iman because I was born in a Muslim family. As we will see shortly, the Quran and that means Allah Almighty does not accept this as a valid argument. What is Iman and what is its definition in the context of Islam? This is a fundamental question concerning Muslims and Islam. But one thing is quite clear: A definition of Iman which contradicts any Quranic principle cannot be accepted as Iman in Islam, no matter where and whomsoever it may have come from. After this preamble, let us explore first of all the meaning of the arabic word Iman and its definition given in the Quran by Allah Almighty.

The root of the word Iman in arabic is a-m-n which means: to be calm and quiet in one's heart; to be protected from fear; trustworthiness and truthfulness (Taj al-Urus).Iman means to accept truthfully to be convinced to verify something to rely upon or have confidence in something.Iman is usually translated in English as faith or belief, and faith in turn signifies acceptance without proof or argument, without reference to reason or thought, knowledge or insight. According to the Quran, Iman is conviction which is based upon reason and knowledge; a conviction that results from full mental acceptance and intellectual satisfaction; the kind of conviction that gives one a feeling of inner contentment and peace. And a Mumin is one who accepts truth in such a way that it ensures his own peace and helps him to safeguard the peace and security of the rest of mankind. In fact, Al-Mumin is one of the attributes of God Himself Quran chapter 59 verse 23.

Muslim Woman: Quranic Reality And Our Illusion

Tags:
@ 12:50 AM (16 months, 19 days ago)
The Quran reminds us that, originally, humankind was one Ummah, but this unity was broken by various differences which the human beings created among themselves Surah 10 verse 19. It emphasizes the fact that the main purpose of sending God's message through various Messengers is to restore back the balance and unity of humankind, which once existed in the earliest period of human history - Quranic reference 2:213 & 57:25. The Quran warns us not to differentiate among Messengers Quranic reference 2:285 & 4:136, because all of them came from the same source, The Allah Almighty. But the followers of the Messengers Peace upon all of them, not only created differences among the Messengers but they also created divisions among themselves within the following of a single Messenger. As other people, we, the followers of Messenger Mohammad peace be upon him have also created divisions among ourselves. We have done this in spite of the very clear order of Allah Almighty to hold on to His rope together in unity and not be divided among ourselves surah 3 verse 103. As a matter of fact, we mostly follow the illusions built by ouremotions surah 25 verse 43 and the ways of our ancestors surah 2 verse 170 rather than the Quranic reality. This is because whenever we are confronted with the Quranic verses which clearly forbid differences and divisions among Muslims, we find a scapegoat and reply that we are not divided but we only have several schools of thought.

In reality though, these are not schools of thought but are schools of action. Only a few examples will suffice to support this argument: differences in what is forbidden and what is allowed by various schools as far as food is concerned; differences in forms of prayer; differences related to marriage and divorce etc. Everyone will agree that these differences whether major or minor are not just in thought but very much in action also. Majority of Muslims, though, likes to believe in ignoring these religious differences and divisions and carry on with their lives. However, our religious scholars are more interested in maintaining these differences by creating a sense of virtual unity that hides their sectarian differences. They prefer not to work for real unity because it exposes their differences. In fact, they are more interested in practicing virtual Islam rather than the real Islam our Messenger peace be upon him and Sahaabaa practiced. This makes every one feel satisfied, more or less.
