Acts of terrorism are not confined to Muslims alone. Terrorists come from every religion. But the media often uses the term Islamic terrorists or Islamic terrorism, implying terrorism is associated with Islam. It is our duty as American Muslims to present the true picture of Islam, which is that Islam does not teach terrorism under any circumstances. It forbids killing of innocent civilians. The holy Book of Islam, the Quran, says: "If anyone murders an innocent person ... it will be as if he had murdered the whole of humanity."

Muslim Woman - Men and Religion

Enigma ensnares the human all his life and they convincingly believe that they are born free! Although they is not! They are born chained in customs, traditions, rituals, and the family traits. They go to the place of worship because as a child they saw their parents go to the place of worship. They despise others because as a child saw their parents despise others. They assume themselves to be the most cultured, enlightened, and brave among the men because they thought and behaved like that. The Man remains confounded in the given circumstances. They evolve their ethics and code of conduct to judge the world. The Man nevertheless is born with an inquisitive head and heart. Within they resides a self. They strive to know what hitherto has remained unknown to them. They attempts to understand what has not understood before. They read, assimilate, contemplate & unshackle themselves. They tread the oceans, deserts, forests, and the civilizations in search of a Truth. They stand up and muster up courage to look at the world independently. They all listen to the echo of eternal unanswered questions from within. Who am I? Who has created me? What is the relationship between my Creator and me? The Man seeks answer to the most complex questions in their lives. Where from have I come and whence shall I return to! Without knowing she enters the folds of so many snares set in the form of Sufism, Monastic, Pantheism, Atheism and the like so many. It is then that they find themselves impeded by the society in which they have been brought up. The wise, the clergy, the religionists, and the learned that sit in judgment on the deeds and misdeeds of others admonish them. They warn them not to seek what has already been sought! Not to redefine what has already been defined! And finally, not to deviate from the path followed by their forefathers! Fear bears no meaning for their mentors. So they look around and to their astonishment they behold their Beloved, the Eternal love when they attain dissolution in the vastness on One Supreme in every direction! and is lost in the instinctive urges, tendencies and capacities which constitute the biological equipment of their fiber in the hormones secreted by endocrine glands, in the social milieu in which they reared up, in the moral code where receives through the emotional part of their nature, in the social forces where they remains passive when society moulds them to enjoy social approval, in the interaction between hereditary constitution and their social surrounding and so the like so many others. Quran has discussed about this subject openly & answered these core questions.

Muslim Woman - Right And Wrong In Religion

People who like their religious personaities, are very much attached with their religion emotionally. Their approach is far away from rationality. Such persons, despite of vast study and knowledge, are not able to use their mind freely in matters related to religion. In fact, they are incapable to come out of the darkness of religion. And it is not a new phenomenon. It is happening down through the history. Even prophets had failed to talk to these people and convince them. Quran says about them: "Although they have eyes but see with the eyes of others; they have ears but listen with the ears of others: and they have mind but think with the mind of others. They blindly follow what their ancestors had followed without judging whether it is right or wrong. And, whereas their beliefs and practices do not interfere or affect their daily life, therefore, they do not bother about the consequences of what they believe or follow. They remain satisfied with the status quo and never think about a change.

Muslim Woman: Differences between Religion and Deen Islam

Hi Folks

A comparative study of religion and Deen, should help us understand the vital and fundamental characteristics of each and the differences between the two: "Religion & Deen (Islam)"

→ Religion is merely some sort of subjective experience and is concerned only with the so-called private relationship between God and man. Deen is an objective reality and a system of collective life. Every follower of a Religion is satisfied that he has established a communion with the Almighty, and the objective of each individual is his own salvation. The aim of Deen on the other hand is the welfare and progress of all mankind, and the character and constitution of a society indicates whether or not it is founded upon the Divine Law.

→ Religion does not afford us any objective. criterion by which we could determine whether or not our actions are producing the desired results. In a social order governed by Deen, the development of a collective and harmonious life correctly indicates whether or not the people are pursuing the right course.

→ Religion is hostile to scientific investigation and is an adversary of reason, so that it could flourish unhampered with the aid of a blind faith. Deen helps in the development of human reason and knowledge, allows full freedom to accept or reject on the basis of reason and arguments, and encourages investigation and discovery of all the natural phenomena to illumine the path of human life and its advancement in the light of the Permanent Values.

→ Religion follows the susceptibilities and prejudices of men and pampers them. Deen seeks to lead men to a path of life that is in harmony with the realities of life.

→ In every age, therefore, Religion sets up new idols and mumbo-jumbos in order to keep the people's attention away from the real problems of life. But Deen is rational and radical: it breaks all idols, old and new, and is never variable in its principles.

→ Religion induces a perpetual sense of fear in the minds of men and seeks to frighten them into conformity; While Deen treats fear as a form of polytheism and seeks to make men courageous, daring and self-reliant.

→ Religion prompts men to bow before every seat of authority and prestige, religious as well as temporal. Deen encourages man to walk about with his head erect, and attain self-confidence.

→ Religion induces man to flee from struggle of life. But Deen calls upon him to face the realities of life squarely, whatever the hazards.

→ Religion treats the world of matter with contempt and calls upon man to renounce it. It promises paradise only in the Hereafter as a reward for the renunciation of the material world. Deen, on the other hand, enjoins the conquest of matter and leads man to immeasurable heights of attainment. It exhorts him to seek well-being and happiness in this world as well as felicity in the life Hereafter.

→ Religion encourages belief in fatalism, and this tends to dissuade man from active life and self-development. Deen gives man power to challenge fate, and provides energy for a life of activity and self-development.

→ Religion seeks to comfort the weak, the helpless and the oppressed with the belief that the affairs of this world are governed by the Will of God and that its acceptance and resignation helps to endear them to God. This sort of teaching naturally tends to morbidity, and emboldens their religious leaders who profess to interpret the Will of God, so that they indulge in their misdeeds with perfect impunity and persuade the adherents to a complete and quiet submission. Deen, on the other hand, raises the banner of revolt against all forms of tyranny and exploitation. It calls upon the weak and the oppressed to follow the Divine Laws and thereby seek to establish a social order in which all tyrants and oppressors will be forced to accept the dictates of right and justice. In this social order, there is no place for dictators, capitalists or priests. They are all enemies of Deen.

→ Religion enjoins religious meditation in the name of worship and thus induces self-deception. Deen exhorts men to assert themselves and struggle perpetually for the establishment of the Divine Social Order, and its betterment when attained. Worship in din really means obedience to the Laws of God.

→ Religion frowns and sneers at all things of art and beauty. Deen defies those who forbid the enjoyment of the good and beautiful things of life which God has created for the enjoyment of man.

→ Religion denounces everything new and declares all innovation as sin. Deen holds that the needs and demands of human life keep changing with the change in the conditions of life; change and innovation are, therefore, demanded by life itself. Only the Divine Laws are immutable.

It should now be easy for us to see the fundamental difference between Deen and Religion. Islam means saying "Yes" to life; while the response of religion is "No"!

Once I have read the article which asked religious scholars of different Muslim sects, how would they define a Muslim? This report has been published and is available. Some of these scholars refused to answer the question saying that they would need a lot of time and pages to answer it. The report said the following about them; "Amongst these scholars even two did not have the same answer."

Muslim Woman: Men and Religion

Religion is as old as the rise of self consciousness in men but its origin, as that of man is shrouded in obscurity. A man has probably lived on earth for about a million years. During the greater part of this period, he had no civilization and has not left his impress on any durable material. All we know about him is based on his fossilized remains and while they tell us a good deal about his physical shape and structure, they tell us little about the man in him. Men acquired some rudiments of civilization when he began to work on stone and metal and to shape for himself tools, which hitherto he had taken ready made from nature. The remains of his artifacts, however shed valuable light on his developing needs and beliefs.

Muslim Woman: Religion Islam Short Biography

Tags:
@ 12:02 AM (24 months, 11 days ago)

Islam, the complete code of life ordained by the Sustainer of the Universe, emerged as a Socio economic and Political power in the Seventh Century. This unpredictable and sweeping emergence was a result of the Muslims disciplining their lives in accordance with the injunctions of the Holy Quran and left an everlasting influence on the humanity. The exalted person upon whom this code of life was revealed – Muhammad (peace be upon him) was born in Mecca-Saudi Arabia on the twentieth of April 571 A.D. During this period the major empires neighboring Arabia were the Persian Sasanids and the Byzantines, who were locked in a constant warfare. Arabia, whose only previous contribution had been to send successive waves of Semitic nomads to invade the fertile crescent was held by arab clans. God (Allah Almighty) final message to mankind revealed on Muhammad (peace be upon him) now contained in the Holy Quran, attracted a few truth loving people but infuriated Quraish of that time.

About Allah Almighty (God)

Tags:
@ 11:38 PM (32 months, 29 days ago)

A finite thing cannot grasp an infinite object. However we know Supreme Being through his attributes given in the Quran. Accordingly belief in Allah Almighty means to accept the sovereignty of One Whose attributes are described in the Quran. The concept of a supreme authority exists amongst people all over the world even amongst the most primitive tribes; and all of them bow down to it, although the picture of that authority is different in the minds of people belonging to different tribes and different religions, Yahawa of Jews, Father of Christians, Ishwar or Paremeshwar of Hindus and Yazdan of Zoroastrians, all bear a different concept. On the other hand, Allah Almighty described in the Quran is different from all of them.
